Our Basic Two Week course includes all the
specimens, forms, supplies, tools and equipment
needed to complete this course. During our two week
program, our students will receive a working
knowledge in the following areas:
Breakdown/Fleshing:
Students
will be taught the techniques of skinning the
animal, breakdown and separate the cape and horns
from the skull, to flesh the hide and ready the hide
for tanning.
Anatomy:
Students will be taught
the basic knowledge of each specimens anatomy.
Tanning:
Students will be taught
various techniques in salting and tanning various
hides.
Measurements/Form Selections:
Students will be
taught the measuring techniques and form selections
for various specimens.
Board/Antler Mount:
Students will mount one
Board/Antler Mount and be taught the various
techniques of mounting various specimens.
Texas Skull Mount:
Each student will mount one
Texas Skull Mount and be taught the techniques of
whitening and preserving the skull.
Painting/Detailing:
Students will be taught
the correct colors to use and the various techniques
for air brushing and the importance of detailing and
specializing your mounts.
Game Laws/Business Management:
Students will
receive a lecture on all taxidermy related state and
federal laws from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Game
Warden. Each student will be taught how to start a
business with marketing strategies and business/tax
laws. Each student will learn how to manage their
business for continued success.
Whitetail Shoulder Mount:
Each student will
mount one Whitetail Deer. This includes breakdown,
fleshing, tanning, measuring, form selection,
setting horns, eyes, ears, air brushing, detail work
and finishing.

240 hours $5,600.00
Our
Extensive Six Week Course includes all specimens,
forms, supplies, tools, and equipment you will need
to complete this course. During this course,
students will receive a working knowledge in the
following areas:
Breakdown/Fleshing: Students
will be taught the techniques of skinning the
animal, breakdown and separate the cape and horns
from the skull, to flesh the hide and get it ready
for tanning.
Anatomy:
Students will be
taught the basic knowledge of each specimens
anatomy.
Tanning:
Students will be taught
various techniques in salting and tanning various
hides.
Measurements/Form Selection:
Students will be taught
the proper measuring and form selection for various
specimens.
Board/Antler Mount:
Each student will mount one Board/Antler Mount and
be taught the different techniques for mounting
various specimens.
Texas
Skull Mount: Each
student will mount one Texas Skull Mount and be
taught the techniques of whitening and preserving
the skull.
Painting/Detail: Students
will be taught the basic techniques and correct
color selection for air brushing various specimens.
Which will include your birds, fish and all fur
bearing animals.
Whitetail Shoulder Mount:
Each student will mount
one Whitetail Deer which includes breakdown,
fleshing, tanning, measuring, form selection, eyes,
ears, air brushing, detail and finishing work.
Full
Body/Fur Tanning: Each
student will be taught the techniques of tanning
various full body fur bearing animals.
Form
Modification: Students
will be taught the techniques on modifying forms for
various specimens and sizes.
Open
Mouth/Jaw Sets: Students
will be taught the different options for various
specimens on open mouth and jaw settings.
Base
Habitat Making: Students
will be taught the various techniques of choosing
the correct Base/Habitat for Full Body Mounts, Birds
and Fish.
Small
Mammal Pedestal:
Students will be required to
mount one small mammal pedestal mount and be taught
the various techniques of mounting small mammals.
Fish:
Students will be
taught the various techniques of mounting one fish
of their choosing, which includes the various
techniques of completing a reproduction mount,
painting, detailing and habitat making.
Waterfowl/Upland Birds:
Each student will be
taught the advanced techniques of mounting one
Waterfowl or Upland Bird, which includes, skinning,
feather placement, form selection, painting,
mounting, base making, detail and finishing work and
habitat making.
Full
Body Mount: Students
will be taught advanced techniques on mounting a
full body specimen, which includes
skinning/breakdown, fleshing, tanning, form
selection, eyes, ears, open mouth and or jaw sets,
detailing, base/habitat making, mounting and
finishing work and habitat making.
Game
Laws/Business Management:
Students
will receive a lecture on all Taxidermy related
